Stormy Weather...

Maybe it's a Good Thing that my tree has deep roots. I still live on Mowry Bay, which seems to have chronic seasons of foul weather blowing in from the north. If it didn't have deep roots, and if my cat magic didn't keep it in a state of perpetual health, it surely would have toppled long ago and I would have had to flee to Helvellyn - which more and more feels like home to me anyway (this is no secret), with the Tree mostly just where I go for sleep and solitude.

Helvellyn at least is up and over a ridge of hills from Mowry, and that seems to affect the weather quite a bit. No harsh chronic north winds; we just get a lighter northwest breeze most times. Most of my boats are anchored there, out of the possibility of being dashed aground by a tempest.

Alas poor MBYC, which seems to have been once again utterly flattened by one of the regular, completely expected storms. In it's place, a wooden shack once again, which does an utter disservice to what it replaced. Yet, this shack, or variants thereof, have been such a constant presence at Mowry (perhaps due to these storms) that they also seem perfectly correct and normal...

A pity, anyway. MBYC prior to this last storm was the prettiest, most welcoming, and most inviting it has been since... well, since ever. And now it's gone.

Then again, it's not like that's anything new, either.
